Twins

Movie Review

"I come from a tropical Island in the South Pacific. It's around 300 nautical miles, south, southwest of Fiji." is the line from Julius Benedict (Arnold Schwarzenegger) when he gets asked by Marnie Manson (Kelly Preston) at the supermarket.

Julius who is the product of several men and one perfect women Mary Ann Benedict in a secret scientific experiment to produce the worlds most developed man mentally and physically the world has ever seen, although an unexpected visitor came into the project. Vincent Benedict (Danny DeVito) was the byproduct, the unwanted left over crap went to Vincent. 35 years since the event Julius was told about his brother on the Island he was raised and able to speak 12 different languages, all his knoweledge came from books and he was trained to physical perfection. Throughout the movie Julius's muscular parts are featured and the interaction of the characters reacting to them is entertaining yet amazing to look at.

With no more time to waste the unprepared Julius makes a quick effort to get off the Island and search for his unstable brother who is getting into alot trouble stealing cars and being reckless. When he finally finds his brother in jail he is unfamilair with the Western world and Vincent first thinks that they sent someone to harrass him from the Baby Klane gang that is looking for him. After Julius offers him bail money he sees this as a point to take advantage from and doesn't even realise or shows much care that Julius may be his real brother and sees it at first

Already the movie is quite humorous, everything Julius does turns out funny. Even when he isn't meant to be funny - this is the talent Arnold Schwarzenegger has held for comedy and expressed it through this film which his first comedy and proof he is more then just action and can play a different character for once even though before twins he was in the documentary Pumping Iron (1974) which he also demonstrates his talented self.

Arnold and Danny Devito fit together perfectly even with the unbalanced proportions this is what makes this movie funny and the way they keep comparing each other to their differences and equalities. As they hit the road Arnold learns quickly to get around such as learning to drive, drinking beer and going out with the ladies. An action subplot evolves but Ivan Reitman does a great job in preserving the main theme.

This movie grossed the most from it's predecessors and this was Arnolds big leap to greater success in movies and a gain in fans. And if you dislike his action flicks (how could you?) then I suggest this movie.
